American Statesman: In rematch, Cedar Ridge tops Hendrickson, advances to state semifinal

Cedar Ridge left no doubt as to the best football team in District 13-6A after posting a resounding 30-2 victory over Hendrickson on Saturday night at The Pfield.

Now the Raiders hope to leave a similar impression with the entire state.

Cedar Ridge, a sixth-year varsity program in the Round Rock school district, will continue the best season in school history next Saturday against one of the state’s blue-blood teams, Allen. The teams will square off in a Class 6A, Division I state semifinal at McLane Stadium in Waco. While the rest of Texas may consider the Raiders (13-1) to be a significant underdog against top-ranked and four-time state champion Allen, there was nothing Cinderella-like about their dominant showing against Hendrickson.
