2016 Raider Football Coaching Staff
Cedar Ridge High School’s Head Football Coach, Shawn Bell comes to us from Magnolia West High School where he advanced their football program to the playoffs, getting as far as second and third round during his last three seasons there. Born to Mark and Becky Bell, Shawn grew up around the game of football as the son of the China Spring High School coach. By the time he finished his prep career, Bell ranked third all-time in Texas high school history. Afterwards, Bell played at Baylor University where he rewrote many of their passing records and still remains a Bears football statistical leader in several categories. He also was selected COSIDA Academic All-District – named to Baylor University Dean’s Academic Honor List two times – was the first Bear ever to be honored for the AFCA Good Works Team – and was named Big 12 All-Academic in 2005 as well as 2006. Prior to Magnolia West, Coach Bell served in Clifton ISD, China Spring ISD, and was a wide receivers coach for Round Rock-Stony Point. He and his wife, Hali Faye are parents to two children, Cannon and Braxton
Coach Reeves is a Round Rock native and is a 1996 graduate from Round Rock High School where he was a two time Baseball letter winner for THSBCA Hall of Fame Coach John Langerhans. After High School, he went on to obtain an Associate of Arts and Science degree from Northlake College while playing baseball. In 2001 he was awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Business Management from Texas State University. Starting in the fall of 2002 Coach Reeves coached at Stony Point High School and served in many different roles for 10 years where he also was the assistant baseball coach. He was nominated “Who’s Who Among Teachers” in 2005 and later in 2009 Coach Reeves was a member of the coaching staff for the THSBCA Team Texas Senior Sunbelt which finished as runners up during the prestigious summer baseball event. At the 2012 THSBCA convention, Coach Reeves was awarded the 2011 Assistant Coach of the Year for the State of Texas. In the summer of 2012 Coach Reeves left Stony Point to be the Head Baseball Coach at Hendrickson High School. In the Fall of 2014 he returned to Round Rock ISD and joined the Raiders. In 2016 he took over the Cedar Ridge Baseball Program. This will be his 3rd year at Cedar Ridge.
Over his career, Coach Daryl Reeves accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments, including Football State Semi-Finalists 2008, 2009, 2010; Football District Champions 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013; and Baseball District Champions 2011.
Coach Reeves is married to his wife Kelley and they have two children: Colten and Carson.
Coach Frick grew up in Southlake, TX, where he was a part of two state championships at Southlake Carroll High School, one in baseball and one in football. After high school, he went on to Tarleton State University where he graduated in 2008 with a bachelors degree in exercise and sports studies. This will be his Ninth year teaching and coaching, his fourth at Cedar Ridge and his fifth in Round Rock ISD. He spent one year at C.D. Fulkes Middle School, but before coming to Round Rock, he spent four years in Granbury ISD where he started his career. Coach Frick will be coaching the Runningbacks, coaching baseball and teaching PALS. Coach Frick is married to his wife Kayli and they have one daughter, Brynli (3) and one son, Liam (6 months). Hobbies include golfing, playing guitar, going to the lake and hanging out with his family and friends.
Coach Coss joins the Cedar Ridge H.S. staff from Laredo J.B. Alexander H.S. He will be coaching the Middle Linebackers and Track. Coach Coss has been married for 26 years to his wife Veronica from Laredo. Veronica is the Assistant Principal at Early College H.S. They have two boys Zachary (25) who teaches in Laredo and Ezekiel (16) which will be a student at Cedar Ridge H.S.
Coach Barrickman is joining the Cedar Ridge staff from Porter High School where he served as the Offensive Coordinator for the past six years. He is a 2002 graduate of Daingerfield High School where he was an honor graduate and an All District athlete in football and baseball. Coach Barrickman graduated from Texas A&M University in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. After college he began his coaching career at Whitehouse High School coaching football and baseball. During his time there, he was blessed to be a part of multiple ten win seasons and playoff appearances. Coach Barrickman will serve as a defensive line coach and baseball assistant for the Raiders. His wife Melanie is a teacher at Blackland Praire Elementry and they are both thrilled to be a part of the Cedar Ridge family.
Coach Boswell is joining the Cedar Ridge staff from Hutto High School and is a Round Rock native. He is coaching the varsity slot (H) receivers and freshman basketball while teaching Math Models. Coach Boswell is a graduate of Westwood High School where he played receiver. After High School he attended Texas State University where he walked on to play football his freshman year in 2007. Coach Boswell cut his playing career short after one year to work as a student assistant at Texas State until graduating in 2011 with a bachelors degree in exercise sports science. While a student assistant he worked with the secondary and linebackers and was part of the team that won the Southland Conference Championship in 2008. After gradutating Texas State he went on to coach in Plano East at Armstrong Middle School for one year where he coached and called the defense. The past 3 seasons he coached at Hutto High School as a varsity recievers coach, helping take the 2015 team to the State Quarter Finals. Coach Boswell has been married for 4 years to his wife , Erika, and they have one daughter Charley (1). Hobbies include golfing, floating the river, and hanging out with family and friends.
Coach Hobbs is originally from Ennis, Texas where he graduated from Ennis High School. While at EHS, Coach Hobbs played football and was a four-year baseball letterman. He attended the University of Texas at Dallas where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Historical Studies with his Teacher Certification. While at UTD, Coach Hobbs played 4 years of baseball for the Comets. This will be Coach Hobbs second year at Cedar Ridge High School teaching World History, and coaching football and baseball.
When he’s not on the field or in the classroom Coach Hobbs enjoys being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Coach Hobbs also enjoys spending as much time as he can with his wife Emily, and playing with his two Australian Shepherds, Navi and Lexi.
Coach Hunt joins the Cedar Ridge Staff from Rudder High School where he served as defensive coordinator. He brings 7 years experience with stints at Bruceville-Eddy High School, Oak Ridge High School, and Rudder High School. He was born and raised in Little River, Texas and graduated from Little River-Academy High School. Coach Hunt graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Kinesiology. He will be coaching the cornerbacks, special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator and will be teaching special education. Coach Hunt is married to his wife Krystan and has one daughter named Hadley (3).
Coach Wolfe joins the Cedar Ridge Staff from Magnolia West High School. He was born and raised in Richardson,TX and graduated from J.J. Pearce High School. Coach Wolfe graduated from Southwestern College in Winfield, KS with a B.A.in Business Administratition while also playing for their football team. He brings 6 years of coaching experience and will be coaching the outside linebackers and teaching world history this year. He has been married to his wife, Sarah, for 3 years and has two kids. A daughter Riley (2) and a son J.D. (6 months)
Coach Robinson joins the Cedar Ridge Staff from Slaton High School where he was the Boys Coordinator/Head Football coach. He will be the Defensive Coordinator and Head Boys Track at Cedar Ridge. He has been coaching for 20 years with stints at Eastland, Levelland, Hereford, Round Rock Stony Point, Royse City, and Slaton. Coach Robinson has been married to his wife Kathy for 12 years and they have 1 son Baran who is 11 and will be a fifth grader at Forest Creek Elementary.
Coach Jones joins the staff from Waco University, where he graduated in 2004. He went on to college at Tarleton State University and graduated with a B.S. in psychology. Coach Jones has coached track, basketball, football, and powerlifting. He was most recently the Head Powerlifting coach and offensive coordinator at Waco University. Coach Jones has one daughter, Olivia, with his wife Gabby. He will be serving as the Head Wrestling coach at Cedar Ridge. Coach Jones and his family are thrilled to be a part of the Cedar Ridge community.
Coach Gregory begins his first year with Cedar Ridge and 15th year in coaching. He spent the last 14 years coaching at China Spring High School. The last 2 years he served as Offensive Coordinator for the cougars. Coach Gregory graduated from Lamar University in 2000. He is the Tight End coach/Co-Offensive Coordinator and asst. tennis coach for the Raiders. Along with his coaching duties, he teaches Business Management and Banking/Finances. Coach Gregory has been married to his wife, Amy, for 16 years. He has 2 children: Tilson (12) and Tatum (7).
